IF summer is in full swing now, a family day out at one of the area’s waterslides could be the ideal way to beat the heat.

We’ve rounded up some of the area’s top attractions, big and small, with something for everyone to cool off in the summer months.

So stock up on sunscreen, pack that picnic, and head to your local attraction for a day to remember.

Chineham Park splash guard

Address: Chineham Park, Popley, RG24 9BL

The newly emerged Splash Pad recently underwent a major makeover, with the area now boasting a 350m Splash Pad and numerous fountains including a water mushroom, jet stream totem poles and water hops. Lots of greenery completes this family-friendly complex.

Water Kingdom and Muddy Puddles in Paulton’s Park

Address: Paulton’s Park, Ower, Romsey SO51 6AL

Opening hours: Tuesday to Thursday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday to Monday 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Perfect for the summer weather, Paulton’s Park has two splash parks that are perfect for cooling off and taking a break from the rides. Both attractions are included in the ticket price. Water Kingdom offers an 8,500 square foot splash paradise. With over 40 different ways to get wet. Among them: water fountains, huge tipping buckets and fountains. There is a seating area nearby for parents to sit and watch and a kiosk selling snacks and drinks.

It wouldn’t be a Peppa Pig themed land without Muddy Puddles. This area caters to children aged 0-6 with the expectation of adults and children accompanying younger children.

Southsea paddling pool

Address: Clarence Esplanade, Southsea Seafront, Southsea, PO5 3NS

Opening times: May 21 to September 4, 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m

Southsea Splash Pool, located on Southsea Common, caters to families with children under the age of 8 and features two paddling pools and a variety of other play facilities. The local cafe offers drinks and snacks.

As this area is family friendly, crickets and dogs are not allowed on the premises. Alcohol and smoking are prohibited. Children must wear swimwear or swim nappies in the swimming pools.

A fun water fountain is also just a short walk away outside of Southsea Castle.

Admission is free for all and there is on-street parking nearby.

Fleming Park paddling pool

Address: 161 Passfield Ave, Eastleigh SO50 9NF

Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m

This popular outdoor pool is open to the public free of charge and includes numerous water features for children, as well as a large playground and sandpit. There is also an ice cream truck and restrooms on site.

Hilsea Jubilee paddling pool

This paddling pool is the perfect way to cool off on a summer’s day. It is easy to get to and is on all major bus routes. There is also free parking as well as free entry to the swimming pool. It is incredibly popular with young children. The pool has two shallow basins, as well as restrooms and baby changing facilities on site.

Fordingbridge Park

Located in the small town of Lymington, this open-air seawater spa offers quality entertainment as well as incredible views of the Lymington Canal. The baths include an inflatable obstacle course, a seawater pool, and paddle boarding sessions. There are changing rooms and toilets as well as a first aid hut on site. There is also a concession kiosk offering a range of snacks and drinks.

New Forest Aqua Park

The aqua park is great fun for the whole family. The park has two inflatable obstacle courses. Poseidon will run on the hour, while Neptune will run every half hour. Lee Splash Park

Lee Splash Park is a free outdoor play facility with year-round play equipment and summer-only water features. This splash park is suitable for children up to 11 years old.

Gosport Splash Park

Address: Stokes Bay Road, Gosport, PO12 2BL

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m

This free outdoor play facility is located on the seafront in Stokes Bay.

There are paid parking spaces opposite and public toilets nearby. This splash park has both play equipment and water features.

This splash park is suitable for children under 8 years old. Because this is a family-friendly area, dogs, alcohol, smoking, and glass are not prohibited.

Aquadome & Lagoon Pool

Address: Basingstoke Aquadrome, Worting Road, Basingstoke RG22 6PG

Opening times: Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and daily during school holidays, reservations are recommended during peak times.

When the sun gets too much, take a break at Basingstoke’s popular Aquadome. The center’s lagoon pool features slides, rapids, a variety of interactive water features, a spa pool, and a beach. Younger ones can purchase their armbands in a splash area with the interactive water splash and play area next to the lagoon pool.

(The slides and Under the Sea area remain closed at this time).

Tickets cost Adults (16+) – £7.50, Juniors (6-15) £5.35, Seniors £5.35, Children under 6 are free.

A family ticket (2 adults + 2 children) costs £21.50.

Romsey Rapids Sports Complex

All-day family fun with rapids, slides, dump buckets and ocean sailing on the pirate ship. With new soft play and adventure golf areas, the complex is open daily throughout the summer. However, before planning your trip, visit the center’s website for more event and booking details.

Winchester Sports and Leisure Park

Winchester Sport and Leisure Park is not only home to its 50 meter swimming pool but also to its family-friendly water playground. So toddlers and toddlers can paddle under parental supervision. There is little to no standing water to avoid injury and risk to young children. This splash guard promises fun and allows children to be introduced to the water in a fun and safe environment, which will boost their confidence.

Admission for family sessions is £2 per person throughout the summer.
